I emptied the garage of everything we no longer needed! We were so grateful that all the hard work equalled a new set of tires.
The kids manned the concession stand, but they ate more than they sold.
We saved money by using a free Craig's List ad and making our own signs.
My husband always has success with a "man table". Just group all the electronics, gadgets, movies and sports equipment together, and you'll draw a thankful crowd of guys!

Wish I could have been at your sale!
Great minds think alike, UH? LOL!!
You should have seen our huge BOOK table! Wish I had taken pix.
Happy Day!
Adorable kids at the cookie stand!

Did you sell a handmade QUILT? May I ask how much you sold it for? I would love to find a "real" quilt at a yard sale!!
I like the idea of the refreshment table, even if only to keep the kids out of trouble and doing something useful.
I can't help but comment on your yard. It's so green! I guess that has something to do with the different areas of the country we live in, but wow! Such beautiful color!
Bye bye fish painting on map!
We will be having a garage sale this summer. Great idea on the man table, we will definitely be doing this!
Oh it looks like FUN!
So sorry to see your trout print go!
My dad always has a "man" table, too and it's almost always a success. Of course, dad's a great salesman, so it helps us sell OUR stuff too!

The "man table" is a great idea! We are going to have a garage sale soon too! But the weather over here in the Pacific Northwest is just bizarrely cold...we had SNOW just last week! And not the kind that sticks either..boo hoo. So we are waiting for warmer weather before we roll out the items.
Glad you are back blogging again!
Blessings!

A man table!? I LOVE it!! Simply brilliant, Meredith.. brilliant!
Great idea with the Man Table. Did you sell the fish picture? We just had a little boy we named Fisher and that would be perfect for his room.
Thanks!
Elise
Elise looks like the perfect little hostess sitting there at the table with Andrew. Very sweet!
Just curious- what do you do with the stuff that didn't sell? Do you take it to Goodwill or save it for another sale?
Susan
The quilt is really an unfinished runner. I sold it for $3, I think.
Someone snapped up the fish paintings for their lake house. The frames were just too big for me to store for another house.
What we did with the unsold stuff:
A big free pile at the curb for anything unwieldy: assorted small baskets, scrap wood, the $5 bike no one wanted, etc. All of it taken within the hour.
We sold most everything else. My mom took the better leftovers for her yard sale in another city.
Your helpers are a-dorable!!
Way to go, Meredith! I'm glad the sale was a success for you. :o)

Yay! It's good to have you back, Meredith! I missed your posts (loved your one at Frugal Hacks about the good things that have come in your online "absence", however). I'm so glad the yard sale was a big success - the "man table" idea is a great one!
Congratulations on the yard sale! I love your blog! I have a link to yours on mine!! God Bless!
Awesome job on the yard sale! I am so proud of you for pulling it together and raising enough money for those tires. The kids look so cute at the concession stand ;) Love it!
I have fond memories of selling lemonade and brownies at my parents' garage sales. I hope the kids had fun! Glad it was a good sale day.
