Little did I know I had another surprise waiting.
A friend of Like Merchant Ships, no doubt shocked by my makeup minimalism, asked if she could send me an extra lipstick sample.
"Sure!" I replied. Somehow this big package of goodies was NOT the envelope we discussed.
The time, the generosity, the pastoral blue lining of the notecard--I so appreciate every little detail.
P, someone in Tennessee is wearing a Maraschino-tinted smile in your honor today!

Meredith,
I'm so glad you liked your package! I know who the giver is She is my sister. She told me what she had done, and I was pleased to see a post about it. By the way, I'm the one who told her about your blog!
What a nice surprise to find in your box!
What a very sweet reader you have! Isn't it something how like minded people support one another in the blogging world? The sisterhood of bloggers!
What a wonderful surprise! Our blogging friends are such a great blessing.
That's a fun morning, for sure! Getting the mail isn't usually that exciting, is it?!
Susan
How sweet! You are so thoughtful- you deserve a little cherry lipstick to brighten your day!
I am so pleased that you got such a nice package from another reader. I have told you for months now that your blog is an inspiration to others; it is a 'breath of fresh air' to read about a normal woman doing good things for others on a normal budget. Your work is beautiful. Anyone can tell that you put your heart into most things that you do. Your 'real life friends' and family are very blessed to know you. Thank you for the wonderful blog, the exciting pictures, and just sharing your everyday life. Roxie
That really is a wonderful surprise. I had a reader send me stuff once, and it really touched me!
Hello Meredith,
I just want to thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. You are a "blog star" in my book, so I was very excited to see your comments. I guess it was kind of like an autograph.
I wrote about you on my blog today, I hope you can stop by.
Thank You for Blogging,
Wendy

How thoughtful! And then you got to sit down and drool over your Pottery Barn catalog. How did the lipstick last through that?
What a wonderful and fun surprise! I went back to look at your original makeup post, and have a suggestion. I was looking for a more economical version of Bare Minerals when I read a post by Kimmi Harris about Everyday Minerals. I tried it and like it even better than Bare Minerals, PLUS it's MUCH less expensive!
Isn't it great to get "fun" mail! I've been enjoying the Pottery Barn catalog as well!
