Beautiful cards. I am still using holiday cards I 'gleened' from my grandmother's house when we cleaned it up for sale after she passed away in 1993. Yep, I know, a long time, but she had a lot of cards that she brought when they were on sale. I send out may be 20 cards a year. So it has taken me years to use the cards she had. I have enough for several more years. Roxie
wow, that image is BEAUTIFUL, i chose 3 boxes that were on super mark down cause they are in french, we me and my family are...they are of the madonna and child...3 diff models of them, i've framed all 3 for in my home....i'll have to see if that image is someone on google, that is a gorgeous nativity scene
What a great deal! No, if I'd gotten cards for that price, I wouldn't make any either. :) That looks like a pretty busy checklist below - but we've all got them, right? I love your little village idea. We may try that this year!
Meredith- What a deal you got! I was so disgusted a few weeks ago at Goodwill. I don't know what the Goodwill stores are like in Nashville, but they have gotten ridiculous up here in Illinois. They have started building brand new, beautiful buildings for their Goodwills, and it seems like the prices have gone up tremendously as a result. I looked at Christmas cards at Goodwill the other week, thinking I could get some reasonably (as in, CHEAP!), and they were ALL marked anywhere from $3.00 to $6.00 a box!! What's the point??!! If I want to pay that much, I can go to any discount store in the area and choose whatever I want!! I am disheartened when I go to the thrift stores in my area. I NEVER come away with deals like you find, Meredith. Your cards, by the way, are beautiful!
Don't fret about not making your cards. My sister is a stamper, and she says that she feels obligated to make her cards each year, and that by the time she gets done making them all it has been such a chore that she HATES whatever the design was that she chose. She also said that because you have to make so many you wind up picking something fairly simple that you can do sort of assembly line, and that folks are sometimes rather unimpressed because they expect it to be more intricate since you are a stamper.
:)
Personally we send out about 80 cards a year, so I buy them at my Dollar Tree-they usually have some pretty nice ones, and if you purchase them in like OCT there is still a decent selection.

Ohhhhh!
I used to go to the after-Christmas sales at a mall store called 'Papyrus,' and buy Marcel Schurman cards for the next Christmas. Lovely.
Did you find them thrifting?

You've inspired me (as you often do)! Thanks for the check list, too - I guess it's time to get started on all that. It's just around the corner.
