Inner monologue: stuff

What pretty quiche and souffle pans!

No, I probably don't need to buy anything.

How much? Fifty cents for both?

One day I'll have to bring a quiche in an aluminum pie plate and I'll be sorry that I didn't buy these. I'm buying them.

Or maybe I shouldn't. I can make do with what I have. There, that's superior. I can detach myself from worldly things.

Then again, I did just crack my glass pie plate and I do have a bag of spinach going bad.

Sold! Spinach quiche for dinner!

You are funny!

:) If you find you don't want them after all, you could always bake for someone and gift the container as well. :) They might come in handy that way too.

Meredith, the conclusion of that "committee in your head" was reasonable, fine, and delightful. I have similar mental monologues! I'm certain that you will find ways to use those lovely pans often and share with others their loveliness and the good things you bake in them. Blessings. Sharon, the Desert Lady

So much pleasure for only 50 cents...I'm glad you got them.

I agree with "ancient one".... so much pleasure for 50 cents! I'm glad you got them too! Way too pretty to pass up, but yes, you are right... I do need to detach myself from earthly goods! I need to learn to do that MUCH better! and to teach my child(ren) to do the same!

I'm going through a similar thought process as I type. I spotted a nice cast-iron grinder of some sort at goodwill earlier. After doing some search I *think* it's a meat grinder, and do I really need one? I'm trying to imagine what on earth I could do with it...I wish I knew if it would "juice."

Very cute post. Yes, I have the same committee inside my head. I wish they would go on vacation and simplify my life!

Marth, your thought is soooo fun!! I really enjoyed this discussion. Meredith, I get that craziness in my head too! So fun to see it on paper!! ;-) Sometimes for expecially only 50 cents, it is easier to just go with it and get that crowd out of my head!! Too many times I have passed up such a little extravagance and took more time later wishing I had gotten it. Later I have needed that little something for someone like was mention using it to bring someone a goodie in and it would have been perfect etc. The only way to stop the crowd is to stay home allll the time ...a gals got to go out and where better than the used stores...They are the equivalent to Christmas for adults. Ya never know what you'll find...its just like opening those presents when you were a kid under the Christmas tree.

Great find! In those pretty dishes, I think even my husband would eat spinach quiche, even though he likes neither spinach nor quiche!

I got a lovely ceramic lasagna dish for my bridal shower and it makes me smile each time I use it. There is something about a pretty dish that really elevates a meal. So glad you got these. Happy cooking ahead!

I am convinced you have MUCH better prices than we get here in Upstate NY when it comes to thrift stores, garage sales, and thrift sales.

Glad you got them, they were less expensive than aluminum.

It was the "deal of the day" as far as I can see!! But if you change your mind you can always give them as a gift...filled with food or not.

"Been there done that." I can talk myself into buying anything! But I always so no first in my head - then - give me a few seconds - and I am walking away with bags. Go Figure!

A recipe sounds like it is in order!

Have a great week.

I personally think you got a WHALE of a deal when you got both of those for just .50....I wish I could find a few deals like that around here. Even our Goodwill stores are not bargins anymore. I have 2 neices who were just married and are setting up homes, both could use some of the nice things you are lucky enough to find. Thanks for the blog. It is wonderful. I enjoy it very much.
I think the bowl would look great on a table filled with nuts...Roxie

As someone who has lots of success in allowing the "detach yourself" voice win,(I would have made a great nun) I will let you know of a little discovery I have made. Every effort that I take to make our home more beautiful (and I do NOT have a natural knack for it) is appreciated by my children and husband. So I am training myself to "give in" to loveliness if it doesn't add to our clutter and mess. But I am able to remain "detached" because I know that in my house, with six sons and three daughters, it may not last long. ;o) I teach myself to enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh but they are so adorable! How could you pass by them for $.50? not a chance! At the very least you could have sold them on ebay for more.

You could always bring someone a meal and for the price of a foil pan, give them that one!

Fifty cents is a steal of a deal! Those really are lovely, and if they're something you'll use, it's never wasted money.

And as others have mentioned, they could always be nice gifts for someone.

Have you yet to discover that the "Inner Monologue" is the 'light from the Heavenlies'?
It comes from the Throne....usually always saying "this is just to show you I love you and am thinking about you".....and it's most always the *best* buy!
