Free box

We went to one neighborhood sale this morning. I found a $1 DVD for my husband's Christmas. I paused at the FREE box on our way to the car. "Take everything!" the owner shouted. "Just put the whole box in your car!"

So I did! What fun we had unpacking it. Four ice cream sundae cups, two pale green pillowcases (perfect for the naked pillows on the guest bed), packages of fun tissue shreds, a flower vase, a box of blank notecards, unopened index cards and note card dividers, a Pampered Chef corn butterer, and a giant roll of red string. (Andrew's been asking for smooth string for a Lego zip cord for weeks! If I'd been thinking, I would have saved it for his Christmas stocking instead.)

Wow! We went to a sale this past summer that had the BEST free box I've ever seen. (other than yours) New bags of Christmas bows, an Italian music box, very nice kitchen utensils, etc. We loved it!

Wow, I wonder if garage sales are better in one area of the country than another. Here in my area of CA they are full of high priced things that should have been put in the trash instead of on the driveway. After the last month of garage sailing, I think I am through. Is that shocking???????

Also getting rid of good things is becoming a problem because donation centers get so full they will not take anymore donations. Is this also a regional problem I wonder?

Your free box can't be beat!
