Free issue of Making It Home

Mrs. Catherine offers a free downloadable sample of her magazine, Making It Home. I am not a subscriber, so I'm tickled to peek inside a copy at last!

I know you are a lover of all things frugal---but if you can find the $ for the magazine it is really, really great! :)

Maybe for a gift?

I want to make some scented drawer liner paper or some sort of homemade sachet for my underwear drawer. I bought a pretty drawer liner paper, but it is almost like shelf liner, but it removeable, and repositonable. So, it won't hold oil or aroma...
I wondered how I could add scent to the drawer, I do have some essential oil that I thought I could put on a cottom ball and just leave it in there, but that might actually get on the undergarments.
So, without going out and buying anything, how can I scent my drawers. I only have three.

Well, I'm thinking that potpourri is simply dried material with essential oils added. You could gather some fall leaves, pinecones or such, add oil, then tie them up in a little sachet made out of an old handkerchief or even an old piece of pantyhose.

You might try removing the drawer and dripping a bit of the oil onto the unlined wooden sides of each drawer. It should penetrate without worry of staining your garments.
