I know a young man (now) whose mom was diligent and creative and ... relentless with her healthy food offerings. She traveled far for raw milk, raw honey, etc. One day I happened upon this young man, furtively knoshing on Captain Crunch out of the garbage cans behind the mess hall at Bible camp.
Let him eat the stuff when Grandma comes! The balance of his life is with you.
I'm a grandma. If Grandma visits now and again, that's one thing. If Grandma lives down the road, that a different thing altogther in my opinion. A regular dose of junk is not only unhealthy, it makes it harder and harder to keep your child on the healthy track as they get older. (Can you hear experience speaking here? :-) )
With your son's genetic predisposition to diabetes, I'd be hard pressed to lightly dismiss regular "treats" like these from grandma. You have my sympathy, and my empathy!
I agree with Mothersong. I got junk from my grandma, but we usually lived in another country than her, or at very least, another state, so our treats were rare. I don't know how I would handle a MIL who drops in frequently and gave junk to the kiddos.

That's what Grandmas are for.
I loved eating at grandma's because she let us drink coke! And she would bring us chewing gum too.
Don't worry. Grandmas do stuff like this. That's why they're grandmas, LOL!
It all balances out in the end, anyway.

I agree with the others...Grandmas can be like that. I can't vent on my blog, however, because all the Grandmas in our family read my blog!
I say ENJOY! Feel pampered from Grandma! And besides......doesn't the baby want it?? :)
