We've had the greatest weekend!
Saturday we used our free tickets to the Home Show, where we learned about some new remodeling products, witnessed the amazing Vitamix blender in action, and put ourselves on annoying marketing lists in order to win prizes.
We ran in the library on our way to the car and picked up Gosford Park. I've been meaning to watch it for a while now, and I was so pleased that the reality docudrama Manor House had taught me a little about "below stairs" heirarchy.
Free tickets, home stuff, library trip, and better-than-average-film watched with husband--could my weekend get any more exciting?
My Air Force brother flew back in. He would like to buy a small vacation home in Tennessee, as it looks like he'll be stationed in Europe for a while, followed by Korea.
(If you could see the beautiful yellow house he rents in a tiny village, you'd be wondering why he wants a cabin here!)
We drove to the Dale Hollow Lake area for a day of fishing and househunting. Of course, I was the one completely smitten by this ramshackle historic home. It has a lot of charm and land for the price. I've been daydreaming about it all day!
When my husband completes his thesis and learns his new job, he would love to transition to a more rural district. Even he agrees that, in the right area, a historic home with a small bed and breakfast clientele would be perfect for me.
Now it's just a few more years of wishful thinking away...
