Frugal Florida Fun

Next week we will be traveling to Florida for a family reunion. What did people do before the Internet made travel research so easy?

I've found loads of fun activities and kid-friendly suggestions online. Since Florida IS America's number one vacation spot, I'll be sharing some budget Florida ideas with you this week.

My son will be the only child among grownups, so I'm particularly interested in special projects he can do with relatives.

--->Here's a link to a free coloring book download that features the alphabet, illustrated by native Florida animals. We are going to bind it with yarn and treat it like a field guide.

--->The online version of South Florida Parenting has some excellent suggestions, including library story times and a review of the best playgrounds.

--->One sidebar noted that the Miami Children's Museum holds a free family night each month, Friday, July 15th from 6:30 - 8:30. Tickets there normally cost $10 apiece, so this will be a huge savings. I have another museum tip to pass along, but I want to confirm the details tomorrow before I post.
