I want to take a moment and thank you for reading Like Merchant Ships. I truly appreciate the friends who stop, visit, and encourage us to keep creating and saving.
i might have to make deviled eggs soon...even if just a few for me as i'm the only one who eats them....thanks for taking the time to inspire all of us...
My dear Meredith, do you have any idea really how much your little blog means to your readers? I wonder if you do? You thank us for reading your blog; you always inspire us, praise others, and share your talents with us. You have a way of taking a simple thing like deviled eggs and making it look so very special. I have been married 37+ years and I was a home ec. major in college and you leave me in the shade with your talents. Bless you Meredith, for your blog, your sweet kind heart, and the time you spend sharing your ideas with us. Your blog is always a bright spot in my day.
I'm with Roxie. Your blog is always inspiring but most of all, your humility and kindness really shine through. You're the first blog I check when I log on. Thanks for brightening my life.
Your blog is such a joy, Meredith. I always tend to focus on the practical - just getting it done - but I want things to be beautiful! You're such an inspiration to me to fit a little beauty into all this practiality!
What a sweet comment by Roxie! But so true! Yours was THE very first blog I ever went to and read, and I cannot imagine not having it around to read every day. It is truly a fun, wonderful blessing in my life, and I am so glad that God brought you, and all your readers who leave comments, into my life. I am certainly the richer for it ( and I don't mean financially, although that's true, too!). Susan
When I started reading your blog I would think, "What would Merideth do?" (To make the ordinary more special - without spending money.) Now I think, "What can I do?" Thank YOU for making me see how special my role in my family can be.
Meredith, you should know that the Lord uses you in big ways through this blog. I am always delighted to see your gentle-spirited writing in my reader, and you consistently inspire and encourage me with your words. Thank you so much for filling this space with such beauty!
Meredith, I was wondering if the tornadoes went through your area as I know they were very close and so many people were affected by them. We are glad that you are safe. Mrs. L.
Meredith, your blog has been my "go to" blog every since I began reading it several years ago. You, my dear, are quite inspiring! By the way, I made your black bean recipe last week and it was wonderful.
You're sweet! You know what I like about your blog? It doesn't show the endless pictures of groceries that you bought each week or other typical frugal-blog stuff. Not that there's anything wrong with that; it's just that there's already a glut of it out there. Your blog is original and inspirational due to the theme of finding beauty in life on a budget. You don't post endless deals and focus on money so much. It's nice to see a different focus for the frugal theme. That's a big part of what keeps me coming back.
YUM! You had me scared for a sec - thought you might've gotten strep too! Good to know that all's well! We had a fab easter - the kids' giggles will last me forever!
It has been a delight to read your blog. You have a very classy house and have inspired me to keep looking for those hidden treasures at our local thrift store. I too am a Meredith and have an almost six-month-old baby. Thanks.
Oh Meredith, you are the best. Thank YOU. Abby made deviled eggs for Easter. They were not perfect, but they were sure tasty! Saving the pix for a certain book, down the road :) Love ya!
I hope you and your family had a blessed Easter as well!
Thank you for sharing glimpses of your life with us, for your inspiration that you give, and for showing us that frugal and thrift does not equal cheap or lower quality. :-)
