Use What I Have: Punchbowl

A punchbowl is an economical--and festive!--way to serve beverages to a crowd.

But I didn't need two, even if one was free.

Conclusion: Passed it on to someone who's planning a wedding on a shoestring.

Do you have a punchbowl gathering dust in a closet? Here are a few ways I've put mine to use:

When I was checking out at Aldi's the other day, I saw some flowers in a bundle and sincerely wished that you were with me so that we could take them home and make one of your beautiful arrangements, just like the one in the photo you posted. Beautiful, as usual!

Yes, I have a beautiful punchbowl. It belonged to my grandmother. I loved it as a child and it sat on her dinning room table. I keep it on my table now. I have used it for punch just one time at my oldest son's wedding. Most of the time it has glass fruit in it to look nice on the table.
Love your pictures. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Roxie

You have reminded me to get my punchbowl out and start using it! (I forgot how you can also use it for kids parties!!) Thank you for the great ideas!

Did you keep the glass or silver punch bowl? I was just curious which one you thought was the most versatile.

You have a wonderful knack with flower arranging, Meredith!

I'm more a stick the two bunches of daffodils in a beer mug kind of gal, myself, but I appreciate the skill of others, anyway ;)

The top bowl is actually plastic! That's the one I gave away, because while you do have to polish silver, it probably won't crack.

It was sweet of you to pass it along - every Southern woman needs a punch bowl:)

Would be great for a summer salad of melons, grapes, strawberries, etc. Glass punch bowls make a gathering a little more special. Sweet of you to share. Coming from the mom of a bride planning on a shoestring budget, I know that was a blessing. Jackie

I have one punch bowl that gets used a couple of times a year. One benefit is that I have been able to loan it out to friends and neighbors.
