"Like Richard Scarry, but real!"

We thought we'd lighten the cemetery visit with a fun adventure, but what can you do in a 'hood with gun shops and hourly motels?

The Lane Motor Museum--a quirky collection in the old Sunbeam Bread factory. Even this non-car-enthusiast had a blast!

My favorite vehicle? This tiny Trident, originally marketed as "ALMOST CHEAPER THAN WALKING." 100 miles per gallon of gas!

$5/adults, kids free, plus we used a BOGOF coupon from the '08 Entertainment Book

hehehe.. timely post. Did you see mine today? :)

My son would love this. I didn't even know it existed. I'm adding it to our things-to-do list.

FYI.. there are free classic car shows going on around Middle TN this month. We went to one in MtJuliet last night. FUN!!!! and FREE!!!

Aww, looks like mom got to put her feet up.

Meredith, I hope you are gaining some peace this weekend after all the commotion on your blog.

BTW, you look great! I didn't even realize you were pregnant! I guess I'll need to stop in more often! :)

My company actually held its annual holiday party there in 2006 (we went to The Factory in Franklin last year) and I have to say everyone really enjoyed it!

How fun?! And where can I get one of those cars? Just quirky enough and so efficient! Ha! Love it...and Love Richard Scarry in this house!

We went there last year. It was one of our favorite field trips.

Your description of the neighborhood was right-on, too. :)

Anywhere that you can put your feet up for a little while sounds like a winner to me!

Okay--love the crocs! But are you missing a strap from one? I was just wondering yesterday if mine were indestructible--as I wear them ALL the time!

The Peterson Automotive Museum in LA is also very good. I was disappointed in the tour as they rushed my class terribly. But, the kids rooms were incredible!

That car is TOO cool. I would love to have one, wouldn't you? A bit cramped though...and definitely have to be a defensive driver.

FYI, the 2008 Entertainment Book is only 9.99 right now, and there are still 5 months of good use left in it.

Gets even better though...

On June 1st, if you PreOrder the 2009 book, they will send you a 2008 book free.
