Attaching a card to your flowers

Sometimes a gift of homegrown flowers looks a little nicer, florist-style.

Trim the tines of a clear plastic fork, and you have a quick card holder to stick in the soil.

***This also works when a certain 6-year-old has rolled the last of your tape around his army men!

I myself prefer homemade gifts. We have been feeling the pinch for a while. So we can (as in canning), make bread and homemade cookies. No complaints thus far.

I just banned a certain eight year old from all tape use for a week, after finding five completely empty rolls of tape in the drawer. And I know I bought three of those rolls within the last month. Creativity comes with a cost and now he's already busy using up my stash of glue in lieu of tape.

Homegrown plants are some of the best gifts to give. I have dedicated one side of my hose to growing plants to give away. Thank you for sharing.

Please stop by my blog and check out pictures from my garden.

Meredith, you never cease to inspire me! I needed a quick gift for someone, and I've found the perfect thing (again!) here today.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the idea of the fork for a card holder. I will use this very soon.

God bless.

That IS a great idea! Thanks :) The boy is 16 - he still likes tape. And string.

I love your idea- but I could have used your tape today. I was helping a young soldier move- and his little army men were falling out of everything he owned:>)Those army men never seem to disappear!

That is great, Meredith! I also use my plastic knives as plant markers in our garden. Might as well put them to good use!

Hello,
I love your blog! I went to google to look for toil cloth bags to reuse and your blog came up. Did you buy your cloth bag online? I am glad I found your blog.
Have a blessed day,
ginger
