Impromptu yard sale

I've been seized by a sudden desire to purge everything extra from my home.

Normally I would take my time, listing on Ebay or taking items to a local consignment shop.

But I'm in slash-and-burn mode. Having a yard sale may be quicker than hauling to Goodwill!

Best of Luck at your yard sale! I don't always have the patience for setting up a yard sale, and sometimes (true confession) I will throw away stuff just because I san't stand to look at it anymore!
I know, I need to work on that!

I've never had the patience to have a yard sale either. Hauling stuff to Goodwill has always been so much faster and easier, though I do sometimes want to earn the extra bit of spending money that a yard sale would bring.

Do you need any help?

The nesting kicked in fast this time! *wink* :) If I wasn't committed to a homeschool seminar on Saturday, I would come by. :)

I got that feeling recently - not nesting though! Freecycled years of accumulated junk over the course of a weekend. It felt great :)

Please, oh please, oh PLEASE do have one! Just don't do it on the 19th of this month, cause I have my monthly one scheduled for that day. Make SURE you announce it, cause I gotta stock up on some great-priced Meredith leftovers!!!

I think I'm going to have a yard sale as soon as I have a yard.

Please tell me how you are going to manage the kids while you're running the garage sale. The only thing keeping me back from holding one is I don't know what to do with my little ones. Those growing piles of outgrown baby stuff are starting to take over. Good luck with your sale. It looks like you'll have some good stuff.

That's it. Time to load up the baby and the van and come to Tennessee! =) I'm sure whoever comes will know immediately that they hit the jackpot.

I just had this exact conversation with my pastor's wife at church tonight. We get together to have one at the church - it's on a great street and the teens babysit for me:) The purging bug must be hitting lots of us:)
I wonder if I could recoup gas to Tenn in savings at your yardsale? :)

I'd love to come, if you're up to advertising it!

I hear ya loud and clear. We have too much for ebay (and I'm a silver power seller) and some of the items are too bulky so we are having a garage sale just as soon as the snow stops falling here.

We've been meaning to have a yard sale for 3 years now. We have to wait on his mother to sort through all of her things first. We have a portion of the garage that is all yard sale stuff. Waiting, waiting, waiting.

Hmmm. It could be baby nesting/preparation. I got the serious desire to purge and declutter right before we found out we were moving to the country! (wink) Wouldn't it be exciting if you got both gifts this year?

Congratulations, Meredith, on expecting another little one. I'm so happy for you!

I've been feeling that way, too. We'll be moving in the next couple of months, so it's good motivation to clear things out!

Wow. I'm a clutterbug, and even I feel the urge for clean spaces. And I'm definitely NOT pregnant.

It must be spring.

Me too!!! Our small house has hit the absolute limit of what it can hold. Just as soon as tax season is over, that is my next project. And...ummmm.....not nesting here either. *wink*

I like the new header.
Man, I've been wanting to get rid of stuff too! If I can juuust hang on to that mode of thinking until I have time for a big yard sale. (i.e. after marathon i've got coming)

We've been purging a lot around here. We've just piled things together, put them outside and called Salvation Army to pick it all up. It's a lot easier than trying to load all of it and the kids in the van and taking to them.

When's the sale? My daughter lives in the Nashville area. I may just have to plan a visit that day! by the way, I love your new heading, and please don't feel quilty about more deserving ones finding your bounty. Are they there when the bargains appear? Apparently not, and someone is going to grab them up. Why not you? You do appreciate them and use them well, and then they can find a home with others after you have loved them! Win win for everyone.

ahhhh, spring fever!! It *might* be nesting, but I find that this slash and burn decluttering bug hits me every spring when it's warm enough to open windows.

Since everyone seems to shed their stuff in the spring, there should be lots of great bargains. But I just CAN'T get in the right frame of mind to buy more stuff!!

Ahhhh....have the nesting hormones got you too??? While I hung my head over the toilet with morning sickness, I caught a whole slew of toys out of teh corner of my eye and thought, "we need to have a garage sale" and then went on with being sick. Funny how pregnancy can give you that urge to order your life. I'm so thankful for it, though!

I hear you on "slash & burn." I just can't decide if yard sale or loading up for donation is quicker.
