Traveller's Rest Plantation

Traveller's Rest Plantation is one of my favorite historic homes in Nashville. This Wednesday (April 9), admission is free, in honor of John Overton's birthday.

What is your favorite historic home to visit?

Is Graceland an 'historic home' I loved walking through the home of Elvis. I am a huge fan. Even after all these years since his death I still love his music. The song "I Believe In The Man In The Sky" is a favorite of mine. Roxie

Well, this is a splurge, but my husband and I loved it: the Frick Collection in NYC. It's the home of (Robert??) Frick, kept in period style, with his beautiful, extensive art collection displayed on the walls. This combined two interests of mine (other peoples' homes and art), so I loved it. The admission, unfortunately, was $20 three years ago.

I love visiting the Hamill House in Georgetown, CO--because my grandpa was born there. It's now a museum for this beautiful mountain town.

One house I have yet to visit despite living close for 13 years is Villa Philmonte at Philmont Scout Ranch. One of these days...
