Project paint

Do you have a chair or dresser you've been waiting to transform?

Habitat Homestore on 8th is selling quarts of recycled paint for 25-cents right now. Brands and colors vary. Gallons cost $5.

Great deal! I don't know if you have a Sherwin Williams in your area, but they sell their Oops gallons for $1.00 each, and their 5-gallon buckets for $5.00 (obviously). I repainted the entire downstairs of my house for less than $10, and the clerk told me the type of paint I got for that price cost over $500 when originally mixed (that morning).

My Sherwin Williams was $5/1 gallon and $25 for 5 gallons last time I went, but it was at least a year ago.

I am glad to be reminded of this--we are about to do a little pre-sale painting in our house!

Lowes and Home Depot also sell their oops paint for similar prices. Not as cheap as Sherwin Williams, but it does give you more options. I was making a kiddie kitchen a few months back and needed pink paint. Between Home Depot and Lowes I had found two shades to choose from.

I look forward to painting my home with oops paint because I have a hard time making choices with 1,000's to choose from. So, I will scope out the oops paint and the first one I like will win.

Gallons for $1 would be an amazing deal!

I prefer buying paint at Habitat because you have MUCH more selection than a single Home Depot store. Our Habitat store has hundreds of quarts in stock right now (hence the sale price) from brands like Martin Senour, Benjamin Moore, etc.

I will have to find the nearest Sherwin Williams, though : )

How cool! I might check them out next time we go to Nashville!

Thanks for the tip, they have a homestore in my neck of the woods too!

I've also found that Home Depot was willing to add pigment to their oops paints for free if one wanted something a little different from the current shade. A friend and I went looking for pink for her daughter's room, and they altered a slightly peachy shade to be more pink. It turned out great!

I found a nice warm brown shade for my bedroom. Let's hope it works out. If not, I'm only out 5$'s! Thanks for the tip!
