Handsome prints for the study

Are you as ready for a non-holiday decorating post as I am?

This group of historic prints at Opryland was like a breath of fresh air. I snapped a photo for future reference but thought you all might also enjoy the view.

My husband and I enjoyed the mix of frames and subjects: President Andrew Jackson, an antique Tennessee map, an engraving of an old tree, and three ornithological prints.

Perfect for a handsome study, a similar group could be assembled from yard sale finds and old book illustrations in secondhand frames.

Years ago, my husband was in Nashville for 3 months for business. We got there Dec. 13, and our favorite memory was Opryland. Beautiful!

This idea has been teasing at my mind ever since I bought a 1950's copy of Wild Flowers of America: http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Flowers-America-H-Rickett/dp/B000Q7PW6Y

However, where do you KEEP all the frames and other supplies as you're gathering your materials?

Very stately, studious, and beautiful. And, I agree, a look that can be easily and frugally achieved! Thanks for sharing the inspiration.

*sigh* I miss the old Opryland. It was our regular haunt on the way home from vacations. Rides! Music! The Wabash Cannonball. Music! Lots of fun.

I find this post interesting today because I am trying to do something similar in our front living room. For practical reasons, this has become the music room, & I have some sheet music that my grandfather scored (he was a trumpet player), & I decided to place that in frames & hang it on the wall. As well, I have two organ pipes from the church where I was married (they went to a different system), & I think those would look nice on the wall too. I don't do "themes", per se, in my house, but found that this one, music, sort of grew all by itself!
