After the lunch

Before I could snap a photo, 30 hungry people enjoyed the buffet, leaving me without a shot of the cakes and pies.

I piled the Walmart chicken in the world's largest basket, lined with parchment.

The platter of tomatoes and steamed string beans was eaten the quickest.

I made too much potato salad. I doubt I will ever make it again...too labor intensive.

At least it tasted good.
And let's have another cheer for the portable high chair, while we're at it. Perfect for coralling a wobbly walker while I worked. (Notice her scraped nose and forehead?).

Sounds like a definite success! I'm sure your husband was really proud of you. Heck, I'm proud of you! I agree about the potato salad - I love the stuff, but it's a pain to make for a crowd. Elise looks adorable - my Jack has that same portable high chair and the same scrapes on his nose and forehead:)

Another good idea to add to my collection: PARCHMENT PAPER to line a large basket of food.

Maybe today you can collapse with a nice glass of frilly lemonade. ; )
And I also think your husband must be very proud of you.

Wow, what a gal! What a blessing you are to your husband. I think the only thing that goes to work with my husband is all the left over baked goodies. We'll all have one piece then send those calories packing to someone else. Everything sounds just lovely.

Thanks for posting the picture of your daughter. My baby turns 16 tomorrow and I remember him having a chair like that too. They were great. I used it instead of a highchair since it was portable.

I can't wait to hear more about it (I hope!).
