25-cent pot

Bad news: I'm having some trouble with Blogger this morning.
Good news: I scrutinized the latest insurance billing while I waited for the photos to upload. I discovered a $300 mistake in my favor!

Bad news:
Our slightly-looser-but-still-tight budget continues until the next pay period.
Good news: I splurged on this little handpainted pot for a quarter.

I am always drawn to handmade items. These colors are perfect for my living room!

Louisville Stoneware is awesome! My mom accumulated place settings for 6(or 8, maybe) over many Chirstmases and birthdays when I was younger. They are still beautiful. If you ever travel up that way, be sure to stop by the pottery.

Meredith, I visited Louisville Stoneware when my husband was stationed at Fort Knox. I don't believe I or my companion purchased anything - it was just too pricey. Congratulations on your find - and thanks for opening my mind when it comes to shopping at Goodwill. Our local store has become a reliable source of clothing for my 16 year-old daughter. How pretty! And if 25 cents is splurging...I've got a ways to go in my thinking!

Okay Meredith,

Share your garage sale methods. I tend to not find much at sales, especially for that price. Do you have a certain time or day that you go? Do you comb the paper for ads? How often do you sale? I would love to find bargains like you do.

I hope you notified your insurance company of the error, rather than pocketing the money.

You can better believe I notified the insurance company of the error! It was their mistake.

They had not paid their portion of my daughter's one-year-check-up, even though the doctor's office said that the claim had been accepted two months ago.

After half an hour of calling between the doctor's office and the insurance company, everyone agreed that a mistake had been made. Now I will get a portion of that doctor's bill refunded to me.
