I have LOVED your virtual vacation tour. I think it's great because I'm in Georgia and Tennessee is a perfect vacation spot for us. I also have friends that live there, so... a free place to stay!

Meredith, were you positively SHOCKED when you saw the "Eat local" figures for what the average American spends on groceries??? - for my 2 person, 1 wage earner family it would be $121 per week! My budget is $50 per week... and that's not even as low as Crystal's... or as yours since you buy for 4. Yikes.

I was shocked just like Sara at seeing the gov't estimates for low-income eating.

Maybe the figures are counting the families who receive food stamps, thus driving the average up?
