Baymont Inn Lookout Mountain

Welcome to Chattanooga! Where will we spend the night?

The TripAdvisor reviews of the Chattanooga Choo Choo scared us, and those $60 Read House rooms through Priceline evaporated during Spring Break. We decided to wing it with the Roomsaver Interstate Hotel Guide. You know, those coupon books you pick up at Shoney's and McDonald's? We often find rates better than the Internet, with no added fees. Plus, you can reconnoiter the exit before putting down any cash.We stopped at Exit 174 on I-24, at the base of Lookout Mountain--convenient for an early morning Ruby Falls lantern tour, close to Walmart for supplies, and less than 10 minutes to the downtown attractions. We lucked out with this Baymont for $55. They were still rolling out the new carpet in one hallway, but our room was already like new. A big cushy bed with multiple pillows, fridge and microwave, high-speed internet and pretty windowed indoor pool area. The room itself is on the small side, but comfortable for the price. The Baymont offers a hot breakfast including waffles, scrambled eggs, and biscuits with gravy. When we arrived, they let us check into a clean room--even though it was only noon. The housekeeper bent over backward to be helpful and friendly as we unpacked. A nice hotel for the price!

Hi Meredith-
My older boys were looking at your vacation pictures with me a few minutes ago, and it made all of us anxious to hit the road again soon, and go somewhere for a few days! I'm glad you ended up finding a nice/clean hotel. That can make or break a trip. Keep posting photos of all your fun activities; it's fun to enjoy them vicariously through your blog! Have fun tomorrow!
