Works For Me Wednesday

I can't measure how much time and money these tape measures have saved me! I always keep two on hand--one in the car, one in my purse. They're especially important if you buy secondhand. No more guessing about the length of those thrift store draperies or if that salvaged French door will fit in my kitchen. Mini tape measures are also great for distracting a fussy kid in a doctor's waiting room!
Don't forget to check out all the tips at Rocks In My Dryer, too!

Great idea! I used to keep a little rolled up tape measure (like for sewing) but never thought of the entertainment value. It's going back in my purse now.

They're also good for measuring clothes to see if they fit, at yard sales and thrift stores that don't have dressing rooms.

Also, if you measure your arm length and or your foot or finger lengths, and memorize that, you always have something with you to guesstimate...

My husband went to help a friend move in a desk they had bought yesterday. You guessed it, it wouldn't fit up their stairs, much less in the child's bedroom!

Now I know why my husband always takes a tape measurement when we buy furniture (and when we are moving).
