We had a good inspection! Only minor items to correct, five of which we can do ourselves. The last includes nailing and caulking a couple of spots on the roof. I think roof work is worth paying a professional to handle, if only to prevent catastrophic injury to my better half. I'd hate to say, "Sure, we made a bundle, but husband's still on bedrest!"
Tomorrow we start looking for the next house. I'm praying that we find one within our financial comfort zone. Most of the neighborhoods I like are almost beyond our price range.

I have a friend around the corner (Montclair) that might put their house on the market next week. There is another house being sold on auction today (Marchant).
I also have a great handyman who could help you with your roofwork, so let me know if you need more info.
GOOD LUCK!

Meredith-
Glad to hear the good news about your inspection. That's the part that I dread the most when we go to sell, because we have heard some horror stories about inspectors in this area being overly picky, etc. Best wishes on the house hunting, too. Every Friday our local paper carries an insert that shows all the real estate listings and photos, etc. I usually look through it and find it almost unbelieveable what most houses are listed for. I'm sure your area is much the same. We have done a lot of work on our house, and I think we'll get a fairly good return on it but, still, I have a feeling that it is going to cost a fortune for us to move. My husband was raised on a farm, so he/we would really like to try and put our house on the market and look for a place that is in the country in the next year or so. I am praying that God will provide the right house for us when the time is right. Praying that God will give you a wonderful new home, too,...and soon!
Susan :-)
Here is wishing you all good luck! We will be praying that you will not only find the perfect house for the perfect price, but that you will find it quickly.
