Forget The Pottery

As I was cleaning up yet another broken glass in our tile bathroom, I realized that my husband needs a few unbreakable tumblers. We have a running joke about the number of half-filled water glasses he scatters around the house. Every morning I send Andrew around to gather them up.

Then I remembered an old magazine article that mentioned you can change the paper inside certain plastic tumblers, simply by unscrewing the rim. The magazine suggested swapping a bright summer print for a coordinating scrap of wallpaper. I'm thinking that a handpainted insert by Andrew would be just as special as the paint-your-own-pottery-mug I planned--yet cheaper and unbreakable. I'm hoping I can find a few today at the neighborhood yard sale or Walgreen's.

They had a kit for this in Starbuck's yesterday. I think you've got a great idea. (That kit was WAY overpriced!)

Neat! I've only been in Starbucks once, but we love buying their sturdy refillable cups at yard sales : )
