Garden Baby Bedding

Image hosting by Photobucket
Here are a few of the things we've gathered. My mom found the Moses basket for $5. I'll use it in our room if we have the baby before moving to the next house. Later I will decorate the real nursery--kind of a French Country/cottage garden style. I paid $2 for this custom-sewn toile crib skirt at Salvation Army. I think it looks pretty against our pale yellow walls. I have a light yellow calico bumper pad in storage. My family is surprised that I'm not going all pink, but bright garden colors flow better with the rest of my belongings. I want to make a big, happy piece of art for above the crib, something with impressionistic flowers to pull in all the yellows, greens, peaches and pink tones. Maybe a mossy stone bunny used as a lamp base...you get the idea!

I missed the girl announcement - congrats! And what beautiful durnishings! We're doing Jacks' side of he nursery in a similar style. I'm working on a painting of a frog with a crown to go above his crib. Brenna's side is princess-y:) I can't wait to hear more tips on decorating the nursery. You're full of great ideas!

Meredith, your nursery will be beautiful. I have toile and vintage things in our nursery. I think it looks very classy.

Shannon, What a neat idea for a shared bedroom. I love it.

I wish I could paint like both of you. You are very gifted to be able to do that.

We were gifted with a Moses basket for our daughter and love it ... I can keep her close by the bed until she's sleeping a bit longer at night and she can move into the room with big sis. :)

Shannon, that sounds like a great way to decorate a shared boy/girl bedroom!

Stephanie, glad the Moses basket is working well for your precious little baby girl! I hope she's using it LOTS and LOTS as you recuperate!

Sarah, I can't really paint worth anything, but it's fun to try. I'll bet after you go into a few galleries and see what some people are able to sell as art nowadays, you'll feel a whole lot more optimistic about your own ability to whip out a brush! My sister dabbles in the local art scene, so I'm hoping I can supply her with materials and have her create something special as a baby gift.
