Aldi's Info
Amy Clark, creator of Momadvice.com, reveals the secrets of shopping at Aldi's in this article. I didn't know that Aldi's is known as the German Walmart, or that Trader Joe's is its upscale cousin. If you want to try Aldi's, she points out its double guarantee on products. I didn't like their slimey French cut green beans, but have come to love their individually sealed portions of frozen salmon. She includes a link to sign up for Aldi's electronic newsletter, so you can keep informed of weekly specials and limited quantities of non-grocery items. Aldi's has recently moved into my area--it's still not on my weekly schedule--but the stores are fresh and clean.

Aldi's has been around here for quite awhile, and it's always my first stop when grocery shopping. Not only are the prices on many items outstanding, the free boxes you snag to take the stuff home in are perfect baby toys.
Spoken like a true frugal mom! ;) My son entertained himself the entire day with a strawberry crate and a car seat box.
I love Aldi's but they are hard for me to get to in this area . . . I try and make a monthly trip to stock up on meat and cheese especially - you can't beat their prices there.
They just built a new one across from the entrance to the zoo, so I try to stop every two or three weeks as I take my son.
I love Aldi's! I was once grousing about the long lines when the lady behind me piped up, "Oh, but I'm so thankful for Aldi's. We could never eat this way if we had to pay full-service grocery store prices!" Boy, did I have an attitude change.
Now that we've moved away from Aldi's territory, we're wistfully reminiscing about those lines and the carts that took a 25 cent deposit, and the vast assortment of boxes that made perfect body armor and cat-castles.

I FINALLY finished a month's worth of meals from Aldi Supermarket!I have been working on this project forever!
We will also have posted (by this evening) a price book of just Aldi ingredients- it is an Excel spreadsheet. It will be in our Downloads section & listed on our homepage.
