Homemaking on the Homestead

My family had a fun morning at the Tennessee Agricultural Museum, washing laundry in a tub, pulling a plough through the garden, and grinding herbs in a pestle.

These pioneer living demonstrations always make me run home and check Crystal Miller's website, Homemaking on the Homestead. She has an excellent article about her strategies for cutting food costs, if you haven't read it yet.

Sure wish we could make our own cream cheese, too!

Hmmm...if I can only drag my husband back to the Ag Museum next Saturday, when the program will feature all kinds of goats...
