I don't always listen when God nudges me to take it easy.
Scaling back my grand plans was a blessing: we've been hit with a stomach virus.
Let the laundry wait.
I'm going to bed!

Bless your heart. Hope you feel better really soon. If I was close by I would deliver some soup, do a load or two of your laundry and take the older kids out for an afternoon. Really take care, when the Lord gives us those nudges it is always best when we listen. Roxie
Oh Meredith - how awful! At least it will be over by Christmas day - and you'll have dropped a few pounds too, I'm sure, so you can have a few more treats! Our last bug left me 11 pounds lighter and depleted our toilet paper supply and borax bin (I just soaked everything until we felt up to laundry), but it was quick! I pray you will all recover quickly - do rest and push the fluids! I'd bring you some homemade bread if we lived closer - it's the best for toast and tea time!
I am sorry the family is sick, but so hope that doesn't include the precious new baby. It sounds like he has had a lot to deal with already with the colic. Feel better soon!
Meredith- Our Illinois virus must be working its way down south. Last week, all seven (!!) of us were hit with the worst stomach flu we've ever had. We were violently ill. Now this week, we've had horrible winter weather. Last night we had a severe ice storm and lost power for a while. Everything is now covered in ice, bitterly cold weather is on the way, and I am NOT done with my Christmas shopping! Arrgghhh!!! I am ready for a fresh start in 2009!! Susan, coming to you from ice-encrusted Central Illinois!
I hope your mom (or husband if he isn't sick and is off for winter break)can help; otherwise, I can't imagine how you can go to bed with an infant, a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old to care for no matter how yucky you feel! Moms usually have to carry on no matter how sick THEY are. Here's hoping that is no longer than a 24-hour bug.
there was one point when all 3 of us were piled in the bed together, sick, and I just grabbed the scissors and CUT elise's PJ top off to avoid having to wash her hair (again).
Nothing makes you feel more like a mom than ministering to your sick kids, though, does it?
Get-well wishes to you & yours! I've heard it's a bad bug.....praying we don't get it tonight/tomorrow. We're heavily involved at our church this weekend!
Hope you feel better soon! I got a similar push by having to catch an airplane at 6am before finishinig all my pre-packing for big move, bill paying and last minute gifts and further cemented by the biggest snowstorm in the NW in decades, and you know, it's ok.

Oh Meredith! I'm sorry you aren't well...3 kiddos is hard enough without adding illness in. Take care of yourself!
Glad you are resting, not glad you are sick. God has a way of stopping us, doesn't He?

Deb Meyers

Oh, Meredith! Hope you are all well soon!
I hope you are feeling better soon. I remember those days when my kids were small and I was too sick to get out of bed. Please take it easy.
I think the worst has passed!

nighty night! be well!
Sorry, Meredith..hope you're feeling better soon.
We should really listen, shouldn't we? I found myself in a similar pickle this week...came down with the flu.
What a blessing to be snug and warm and in bed all day when everyone else is running about, making preparations?
