Boxing Day

Sorting the new, simplifying the old...

Mesh bags should help us keep track of pieces--especially for secondhand toys without original packaging.

4 fabric mesh bags, $1 at Dollar Tree, or thread your orange sacks with twine

Hope springs eternal, right?

We totally need some of those! New Duplos, Lincoln Logs, and play food have taken over my living room!

I keep seeing those at the DT and thought they looked useful. Didn't have a purpose in mind so I didn't pick them up. Think I might now!

I like that idea! We have numerous sets of building blocks and those mesh bags would work great - I need to keep my eyes open next time at the Dollar Store.

I've got to pick some of those up for our Ponyville and Polly Pocket pieces that are scattered everywhere. Thanks for the idea!

I like those bags especially that you can see what's in the bag. I am waiting for those 4 drawer bins then I think I will label the drawers with the toy names and a picture to go with it. Unless I find a easier on the pocket book and a more earth friendly one at that. Baskets are just not working here. Those bags would be great to hang on a peg board, or hooks on a board on the wall.

Hope you are enjoying the holidays:)

These mesh bags are so much more visually appealing than Ziplocs, and they have a soft, non-plastic-y feel.

I really like that the mesh is fine enough to keep even the smallest Lego piece from falling out--yet the bags expand to hold even a soccer ball.

the color is a light spring green, which also looks good in my home.

I can't say how well they will hold up, but I have high hopes!

Wow! Those mesh bags look fabulous! I'll have to see if I can find them at our local family dollar, because they'd be so perfect!

I know it's nosy, but I so enjoyed your post last year with your budget and what you terrific and well-suited gifts you got so thriftily (is that even a word?). Would it be terrible rude to ask you to do another post like that?

Great job to you guys! We worked on sorting and cleaning the day after Christmas too. We cleaned the whole house. It has been so nice to have it so clean.

Meredith, I just had to tell you that I ran out to Dollar Tree tonight and bought 3 packs. They're great! Thanks so much for sharing your source. =)

I saw these at the Dollar Tree last night and thought of you immediately!

I bought a pack and handed them off to my kids for some room cleaning.

I wonder if the people who made those sacks knew they'd be such a big hit! What store were they originally in?
