A fresh leaf

For the first time in months, Elise slept through the night--and woke with a smile on her face.

I can't tell you how great we both feel. All the worries, all the obstacles, everything seems achievable now.

Sleep is free, but it's easier to be cheerful when there's enough of it to go around.

I am so glad that Elise got some rest so that her mommy could get some good rest too. I slept well last night myself. For the first time in almost 4 weeks my mother was out of the hospital and home in her own bed. Good Lord willing she will be well for a while now.
Did the mail man bring you a package yet? I got mine on Monday. Roxie

Hmmm...I'll have to watch for the carrier!

It is clear that we made the right choice regarding her ear tubes.

The ENT said that both ears were still full of infection, despite 5 days of super-strong antibiotics. I can see now how uncomfortable she must have been, even during the times when I thought she was relatively well.

He suspects she had a chronic infection which never really went away between hot periods.

I'm sorry that you were going through such a hard time with your sick child. I remember those kinds of days and nights very well. I pray that you can get some catch up rest, especially since I believe you are expecting, right?

Stop by my brand new blog sometime:

Take care,

I am so thankful that you all slept well and that Elise's surgery went well. My friend did a great post about a "sleep bank" at her blog, she was pregnant and having toddler troubles and really wishing she could use some stored sleep.

Take care of yourself!

Wonderful news! I'm so glad her procedure went well and is already giving her relief! I hope the infection clears up now. Poor kid. Ear problems can cause such misery.

That is just WONDERFUL! I often think, "What did people do years ago?" What a blessing to have this relief.

Awww. What good news. I'm glad that she is feeling better. I used to get ear infections ALL the time when I was young. I finally got my adenoids removed and ocassionaly get them now that I am grown. Good luck to your family!

Boy you said a mouthful with that last sentence! I'm glad she's getting some sleep!

I sure hope this works for Elise. Can you imagine the agony she would be in on the long flight next month if her ears were still infected. Hopefully, flying won't be an issue now. Elise deserves Bitty Baby TWINS for all she's been through! Get some rest and enjoy brunch or something like you did for Mother's Day for Father's Day. Looks like life got in the way of this year's anniversary celebration!

So glad she slept well, and that everyone slept well. Praise the Lord!

Oh...AMEN to that! So glad your little one is finally on the mend. I had my first ever adult ear infection last year - they hurt like crazy!

I need to make getting my little guy sleeping through the night a priority. I haven't slept all the way through the night in...14 months!!! Wow, I earned these bags under my eyes!

Great to hear about the sleep! It made a big difference when our littlest started sleeping for real, since he had such terrible colic. Grats on the rest!

Everything in life IS so much better with proper sleep. Here's hoping you get lots of it and can play catch-up on the sleep you lost.
