Revolution Money Exchange

If you read any personal finance blogs, you've probably been invited to earn a "free $25" just for signing up at Revolution MoneyExchange.

Cathy of Chief Family Officer says you should think twice about that.

Thanks for the link! I was hesitant about the free $25 and the privacy policy so I am glad I didn't sign up.
Thanks
Kathy

WHO would give out their SS# on the internet?! It's hard to believe anyone would give away all that banking, etc. info. Why not just invite the world into ones home and say "Help yourself." Thanks for the alert.

When I saw this on some blogs I was tempted to sign up. When I showed it to my husband he looked at it and said it was not worth the risk for $25. So, I didn't join in. I am glad to know others felt the same way. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for the link love, Meredith!

@Vicky - I think you're being a bit harsh. We do lots of things that contain our personal info over the internet - I just e-filed my taxes, for example.

@HollyBerry2 - Don't freak out, just make sure you follow the steps for opting out!

Interesting. I just started seeing the links for the free $25 the other day. I was automatically suspicious simply by the fact that they don't charge transaction fees, yet they're giving away free money. Made me wonder how they're making money if they don't charge AND they give money away for signing up.

I'm glad I didn't jump into that. A mere $25 isn't worth it.

Hmmm... I am glad I signed up after asking Joshua's approval! :) We haven't given them banking info; I plan to just request that a paper check be mailed to me. I've never used PayPal, anyway... :)

Sorry - Don't mean to be harsh, just incredulous. I can see how it would come across that way though. Sure is hard to protect ones identity these days with even hospital personel selling patients identities as in the news recently.
