Freedom

It's too dim to take a photo. I'm sneaking out of the house. By myself. In the car!!!

There's a church sale in the gym. Wish me luck!

In the meantime, we're brainstorming inexpensive indoor party locations at Blissfully Domestic today. Any Chuck E. Cheese alternatives?

We've mapquested all the big local yard sales, and we're off! Much luck to us all! =)

Oh I'm jealous:) Hubby's up early every Saturday working on the sownstairs, which I'm so tickled about, but I sure do miss leaving everyone in bed and heading out to yardsail (my aunt spelled it this way and I love the mental picture of sailing from yard to yard). Hope you're finding great stuff and enjoying the peace and quiet:)

Sounds like fun! I thought I was being all Meredith-esque last week. I stopped at a yard sale and then a "garage" sale. The yard sale was in rather ritzy neighborhood on the West End. The "garage" sale was in the same neighborhood at one of the private schools. The yard sale was a complete bust - the cheapest item was $25. The garage sale was a little more reasonable but no treasures located.

good luck!!
My daughter was away overnight with grandparents so I thought I might go garage saling, but it's a little early yet for our area, and none tempted me enough. Instead, my husband went to a local tile store's annual sale and scored great slab granite for a desk project. SOMEone's got to drag in the bargains :)

I do love getting away on my own! That's exactly what I'm doing today, even if it is a business conference the no cooking, no cleaning is always a treat.

I know your kids are still pretty young so I don't know if these ideas would work now, but maybe in a few years. If you have a party at the food court in the mall you can bring in your own cake and decorations, then go to the movies or the arcade. Those ideas are pricey though. Here's one I've been wanting to try. A scavenger hunt at the mall. You can do this many different ways. You could hide small items in the mall and have a map or clues to find these, or they could have a list of things to buy with a small amount of money and whichever team has the most money left over wins. Some of the items could also be free like a napkin or a ketchup packet.(Gee, are they free?) All of this would of course require more parental help and supervision. I've been doing kid parties for 17 years now. It's fun to see how much bang you can get for little money!

I just had to laugh at this! No, I can't see you, but I can sure picture you. I've done this many times myself. I saw your treasures in the next post. Good deals!!!
