Oh, no. We had already priced around and taken the car in to Firestone before I remembered the 10% discount.
This Firestone is convenient for pickup, has late hours, and MORE than honored their work on the mystery Volvo repair. They even took that car to the dealership without charging us anything.
It just happens to be a very $$$ repair. Not only did the belt break, but the compressor seized, damaging two valves and requiring a complete new coolant, etc.
So not good! But I am not living without an A/C car this summer, either!
Just a thought for your readers. AAA members also receive discounts at many automotive repair shops & retailers (like Napa Auto Parts), in addition to travel & other discounts. We forget about that benefit with our membership, but we were able to take advantage of it last summer when our car broke down on a road trip.
Well at least the rebate was able to help your family out! 2 of the 4 moms at our devotional last night just had major car repair done. We are blessed to have a mechanic for a friend, so we often have to remind him that we don't expect him to work for free.
Yes, every little bit does count. And I spent too much $ at Costco today ... I can't keep ENOUGH food in the house w/these growing kids!!! HELP! :) LOL
Every so often we'll get coupons on our door for our Honda mechanic. I squirrel those away like crazy when I'm lucky enough to get them. Ten percent can be pretty significant when faced with an expensive repair!
You are right meredith and $60 isn't just a little bit. heck I used a $1 off coupon at Dairy Queen tonight when we treated the kids to ice cream. Now that is just a little bit. Little bits add up to lots!
You are so right, every little bit does help. I am so glad that you were able to use that and get that money off. I am thinking of you guys! Keep us posted on the job interview and how things go!

Would you have done better to shop the repair around, pricewise, than choosing a service center based on the coupon? Just wondering.
