Improvements big and small

Michelle at Scribbit crafted a clever way to make 4 small flowers look like a million bucks. No wonder she's guest posting at Design Mom!

Tracey from Notes Of A Cottage Industry made her kitchen look bigger by installing a french door to the laundry room. This presumes she wouldn't have a lovely view of a laundry mountain like mine!

Such good examples of how small changes make big differences.

I love seeing someone turn a room that can be bland into something special. I actually like my laundry room. My husband and I painted it white, I have hung some art work made by my two sons (My sons are grown men now, 34 and 30) I have a beautiful rug on the floor. I have some nice shelves above the washer and dryer that came from a Habatit Rehab store. They are white too. I have many baskets on the shelves that I got a garage sales etc. These baskets hold many things, odd socks, clothes pins, dryer sheets, and in one basket I keep my hangers. I also keep an empty basket there for loading wet laundry to the clothes lines out side. Yes, you read right, in 2008 I still hang 99% of my laundry outside in the sun to dry. I love it. It smells so good. I use drying racks (kept in the laundry room) to dry clothes when it is wet outside. I almost never use my dryer. I do at least 2 loads of laundry a day. We are a family of 4 (2 grandsons live with me) and my husband and I. I also do home day care for a living and have 6-8 kids that I do extra laundry for. (wash cloths, towels, napkins etc) So I do a lot of laundry.
Thanks for sharing this. I am always inspired with the things other women do in their home. Take care and many blessings to you. Roxie

Thanks for the link love--you know I've never understood Martha Stewart's flower arranging techniques. She has these "arrangements of the month" that are always beautiful but I figure ANYONE can make four dozen roses look fabulous--they kind of came that way. What impresses me is when I find a way to take four daisies and turn them into "WOW!" When I can take flowers from my garden and make them look fabulous--now that's an idea I'll use.

Thanks, M
