5 low-cost ways to dress up your table

As I was driving home, I kept thinking about what worked--and didn't work. Here are inexpensive touches that passed my quality test:
  • Stiffly starched white napkin in the muffin basket
  • Decorative canteloupe half from the reduced produce rack
  • Real trays bought for less cost than disposable
  • A fancy spread or condiment if only for show
  • Two stems of lilies ($4 from Harris-Teeter's 3/$12 bunches)
