Unexpected leave

Sorry! Didn't mean to be gone so long. I developed bronchitis the same week I eased Elise out of nursing (and you know what that feels like).

I was so miserable that I didn't even take photos of the best Thanksgiving turkey I've ever roasted! I used my thrifted Romertopf clay baker, which cooked a 12-lb. bird in 2-1/2 hours at 400 degrees. Moist, flavorful, golden-crispy skin--with leftovers so good, I don't even want to reincarnate them as a casserole.

Hope you've had a great holiday! Expect our regular routine to resume (with photos!) tomorrow.

I used a clay baker for my turkey breast and I was very happy with the results. I will be on the look out for a larger one this coming yard sale season.
Sorry to hear that you have been sick. I hope you are feeling better.

I'm glad you are feeling better now! Happy belated Thanksgiving! I got a picture of our turkey in the oven, but not of it on the table! Drats!

Now on to get ready for Christmas!! Yay!

Wow - what a gorgeous room to have Thanksgiving dinner in! I love your high ceilings!

Oops! Sorry! That is a photo of my aunt's home, where my extended family gathered for Thanksgiving.

I just assumed my regular readers would have seen enough of my low-ceilinged little 50's ranch to know it wasn't mine : )
