Can't beat yard sales

I'm so spoiled by yard sale prices, I almost can't buy things in stores. One quick stop netted the following:

  • These suede pumps have a pretty lace and heel, perfect for a Thanksgiving paisley skirt.
  • Red tin sized well for nuts and brown mailing envelopes.
  • Treating myself: an unopened jar of boutique hand cream, 5 cents.

Jealous! I'm a big fan of that fancy hand cream yet I've only broke down and bought it for myself once during my carefree working days before children. Now I'm using my son's old baby lotion that I got for baby gifts. Enjoy!

I haven't been to a yard sale for ages, though I do occasionally visit our local "op shops" (opportunity shops = thrift stores). Last week I got the most beautiful glass coffee percolator, unused, with an orange band holding the handle and gold trim - for two dollars. The metal coffee part lifted out and it makes a perfect water jug, the lid keeps the ice in. I'm inordinately pleased with my two-dollar purchase!

That is my FAVORITE hand cream. I really can't believe all the treasures you find. You are a Jedi-Warrior of tag sales!

I am pea green with envy. Not only do you find the best things, you have tag sales/garage sales on Friday in your area. We do not have sales in this area on Fridays. (at least not that I have ever seen) I hope you enjoy the shoes and I am sure the hand cream will be wonderful. That tin is very pretty too. Roxie

I LOVE that hand cream and believe it or not that little jar is quite pricey when bought at the store - you got a great deal! ;-)
