Anna Maria on Martha Stewart

I am taking a quick break to watch one of my city's own bloggers, Anna Maria Horner, demonstrate her craftiness extraordinaire...on MARTHA STEWART!

Meanwhile, my own heart is racing a million beats a minute. My husband just called from work.

"There's a meeting tonight for 50 to 100 people. We just found out that refreshments were part of the agreement. Could you pick up cases of bottled water, individually packaged snacks, something to cover the buffet table and a centerpiece?"

Even though it's not "my" money I'm spending, I still can't stand to overpay. I think Big Lots may be my best budget option without driving to a Sam's Club.

I'm with you! I work for a ministry, and our standard joke around here is that the "budget is $0, and as close as you can get to that is good"!

Blessings!

He must -really- trust you to get these things done for him. Wow. I know you'll do a great job with grace though.

Well, it's not trust so much as necessity to cover someone else's oversight.

His boss' bosses will be here, and I'm glad to have the chance to make my husband look even better at his job than he already is : )

Found tablecloth and baskets. Going to reuse the dining room table centerpiece with added colorful leaves.

Just waiting until the baby wakes up to run to Big Lots for food!

Meredith - Big Lots is a good bet. This is a great example of why men with stay at home wives tend to do better career wise. I know your husband must be so proud to know he can really count on you!

I have a confession -- I like to shop.

So, when the Girl Scouts were hosting 60 Brownies, I volunteered to buy supplies. Then I had a few of the older girls over to cook.

The troop was able to serve snack for $0.50/Brownie.

It was a real thrill to use THEIR debit card to shop.

You, my dear, are one special lady. Your work is a true service for others, and you even enjoy the challenge! I hope you get some tasty leftovers or a warm round of applause. Of course there will be a new jewel in your heavenly crown!

I didn't know if you knew this (or cared:), but it looks like Martha Stewart has a blog now. By subscribing to that, I now can enjoy some of her "good things" without having to remember to turn the tv on or visit her website.
