What to do with doilies

Another clever idea from The Pleasant Times: what to do with grandma's doilies.

I've always thought it would be wonderful to press family heirloom lace into handmade clay pottery. All the women in the family could each have a platter decorated with lace from Grandmother's wedding dress or chapel veil.

Hi Meredith,

Quick comment: I saw some beauuuutiful pottery up in the Crosslake, MN area that had the lace/doilies imprinted. It was gorgeous, so it can be done! A local artist created it. Some plates/platters/cups/etc. had just a bit of impressions around the rim, some had it entirely covered. Great idea! Just wanted to let you know that I've seen what you are talking about and it's wonderful! -Mary (Vocation of Motherhood)
