Travel notes

Just a reminder, I will draw a winner for the Cottage Charm Give Away tomorrow! Send me an email or leave a comment on that post by midnight tonight. The laptop and my new black travel outfits are such a blessing this week! That funeral came a little earlier than we hoped. We are on our way to Georgia to honor my husband's grandmother, my daughter's namesake. Of all my in-laws, Great-Grandma Elise made the most effort to know and love our children.

Call me crazy, but I am already excited about one day being a grandmother, let alone a great-grandmother! Can you imagine the privilege of getting to know your children's children's children?

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I know the feelings of being a grandmother. I am a grandmother to 4. I love it. It is a wonderful blessing. Yes, you are right, getting to know your children's children is wonderful. I am always happy when these boys come into my house in the morning. It makes my heart happy to see their face and know I can share my day with them.
Blessings to you. Thank you for the wonderful blog.

So sorry for your loss.

I too cannot wait to be a Grandma. I watch my mom and MIL with my baby it is just pure joy for them. Being a mom is hard work. I think getting to be a grandma is one of your rewards for that. : )

Being a grandmother is the most wonderful thing I've experienced. I think it's wonderful that you already understand the blessing that it is.

So sorry about your loss, Meredith. And even though it usually involves work, time, effort, and financial cost, I personally always think I am the one who is most blessed at events like these. Does that make sense? Somehow, taking the time to honor, and remember and pay respect to someone that you have loved ends up enriching and blessing your own life. For me, it always seems to put the little irritations and agitations of my own life in a better, bigger perspective, and makes me realize what is most important in life. It will be a good experience for your children, too, as they see you and your husband honoring someone that you loved. Have a safe trip, Meredith.

Meredith, our condolences to your family and your husband's family.
And yes, I know what you mean aobut looking forward to being a grandma someday...in my fantasy dreams somehow my kids (age 3 and due in July) skip right from age 12 to 22 and graduate from college with great records and are ready to begin meaningful jobs then settle down and start their own families by age 30, LOL!

I am sorry for your loss. We recently lost my dad's grandmother...my daughter's great, great grandmother (for which she is namesake) It was an honor and blessing to attend and sing in the funeral. She was always a family loving, God fearing woman. Nice for us to have such legacies!
