Works-For-Me-Wednesday: baking caddy

This kitchen has my first-ever pantry closet, which is great. Every time I need to bake, though, I end up making multiple pantry trips for the baking soda, the small bottle of vanilla, the poppy seeds. Finally, I wised up and put small baking items into this plastic caddy with handle. One trip in, one trip out: it works for me!
(True to my Tennessee roots, I left its fifty cent price tag affixed, Minnie-Pearl-style. Ha!)

That is a fantastic idea! My pantry is at the opposite end of my kitchen, and it's a pain making multiple trips across the huge expanse. I may just have to snag that idea!

Now that is something I could do! :) I have those baskets for holding cleaning supplies, why not baking supplies too?

I do this, too. My kitchen is so small, keeping things stored this way just helps me fit more in the cabinets.

I LOVED the Minnie-Pearl comment!

What a wonderful idea! I waste so many steps going to and from my pantry all the time. I just might try that! Thanks for the tip!

You are so smart! How come I didn't think of this LOL, I have a caddy of newborn baby stuff, a caddy for cleaning, a caddy for first aid...
But if I don't walk to the pantry 400 times, how am I going to burn off all the calories from the cookies I'm baking?
:)

Now this is a very interesting idea! I do have all my baking stuff (minus the spices) in the cabinet directly under the mixer, but I still have to pull them all out individuall onto the counter. And this is a SYSTEM. And despite the general chaos of my house, I love a good SYSTEM. . . .

Love it ... I do stuff like this, too. All of our medicines are in a tub and I just pull it out to find whatever we need.

thanks for the comment on my blog Yea, that breadmaker was the one I was thinking of, but couldn't spell it - ha! ... my neighbor has it. Hmmm, good idea about letting my bread machine do the kneading and then pulling it out. I might email you about that for a few more details!

Fabulous idea! I may need a laundry basket to hold it all, though... :)
