Christmas eve

I love going to church on Christmas Eve. I never make it to Midnight Mass, but the evening Vigil is just as awe inspiring. Is there anything sweeter or more pure than the voices of a children's choir singing "Silent Night? My whole self--body and soul--relaxed into the familiar liturgy, the joyful Alleluia, the Gospel of Jesus' birth. I just love everything about it.

We came home to a buffet dinner. The spiced fruit tea, simmering on the stove, made the whole house festive. I like to float a few cranberries in punch, just for decoration.
The unseasonably warm weather dried out my greenery prematurely, so I took a little time to fluff and fuss over simpler new arrangements. I enjoy the decorations, but there's nothing I relish more than tossing them in a Glad bag the day after Christmas!I hope that you and your family are having a wonderful celebration, too!
