Sleepytime

Kim C. and commenters offer advice on getting a baby to sleep through the night. Me? I've had my first 5 -6 hour stretches of sleep this week, and I'm profoundly grateful! Elise won't nurse to sleep, anyway, so I'm well on my way to implementing Kim's suggestions already.

Isn't it great when a baby starts to sleep through the night? Mine took forever. Hooray for Elise!

I found Kim's original post when my son was a couple of weeks old. I did basically the same thing she did and it really does work. He was sleeping from 12-6am by 5 1/2 weeks. He doesn't suck his thumb or a pacifier...he just wants a drink of water when he wakes up in the morning, so I put a bottle of water in his crib (one with the nonleaking nipple.) Most times he will go back to sleep. He normally sleeps about 10 hours. We are so thankful that we found Kim's advice.
