Feelin' blue

We just got word that our dream house's appraisal falls well within our price range. Unfortunately, a neighbor has offered her fifty thousand dollars above that, knocking us out of the bidding. Oh, well, such are the highs and lows of househunting! Time to move on! Right now we are looking closely at a bank-owned foreclosure (no central air) and a neglected, 3000 square foot brick home. That's much more space than we even want, but it does have a downstairs kitchenette which could be transformed into the ultimate Martha Stewart craft or catering room. We'll see what happens!

We looked at a house with no central a/c when I was pregnant with N1 and decided that it was not a good call for a 7 month pregnant Mama. Our goal was to work the cost of installing the a/c into our price but it didn't work out. Wouldn't it be fun if you were looking for houses in my neighborhood! :)

Oh that's a bummer. I don't understand why people would offer more than a house is even worth.

That's a bummer Meredith, but perhaps it paves the way to an even better opportunity!

That's what I'm hoping!
Donna, this house just had a special feel. Obviously I'm not the only one to recognize that. I even think it's worth $50,000 over the appraised value, only I can't (and won't) pay that.
