"Works For Me" Wednesday

Earlier this year I started hanging clothes by complete outfits--eliminating all need for drawers and baskets. Except for those pesky pajamas! Then it occurred to me, I should store them where they were needed most: the bathroom. I wish I had started this years ago. No more dripping trails of water back to the bedroom. More importantly, no temptation to leave a child in the bathtub while Mom steps out to fetch clean PJ's.

Don't forget to check out the other Works-For-Me ideas at Shannon's blog today!

Great idea...normally I try to grab them before I put them in the tub, but lately since hubby has been away on travel my lil' ole mind keeps forgetting. I'll have to try this one! Thanks!

Isn't that a basic organizational tip? Storing things at site of first use. It is so hard to get out of the mind set of traditional locations for things, though. Good idea!

That is a good idea. What do you do with their underwear and undershirts? Are they in the same basket?

Wow, if I still had babies who wore jammies, I'd definitely use this idea! This is really innovative! Don't you just love when that light bulb goes off in your head?

Meredith, I love your site. I have been browsing your archives for more useful ideas! Have you found some great deals for graduation gifts? I have a niece graduating soon.

I have met a personal goal after reading your site. I have decreased my past two week grocery budget by $100. I am so excited! It's an issue of stewardship for me. I want to be more responsilble with the many blessings we have been given.
Thank you so much for sharing on your blog. I have truly been blessed by you!

Stephanie, I'm probably a horrible mother but I don't make my son wear undershirts or underwear with his pajamas. I was raised in the "you have to let everything air out sometime" school of thought : )

Otherwise I clip the next day's underwear to hanging outfit in the closet.

I don't do the T-shirt thing at all with my kids. They usually just wear one layer (I know, probably the clothes would last longer/be cleaner etc etc with a t-shirt)

I've been hanging Buddy's clothes in outfits since he was born. It really does help! I used to do it with Princess's clothes too, but for about the last year she has had DEFINATE ideas about what to wear, so it is just easier to keep the items separate and let her pick (unless it is a set that really HAS to go together)
