Hanging Up My Apron

Actually, I'm not sure I ever hang up an apron. When I'm done with one, it's dirty enough to go straight to the laundry pile. Which of course justifies the growing number of aprons I must have on hand, right? I bought this sweet rose apron on our way to the grocery today. The butcher had marked down some burger patties to $1/lb, so if my husband will be kind enough to grill them, I'll have the night off. I also bought a jumbo bag of lemons on sale and mixed up our first pitcher of lemonade with stevia sweetener. We've been drinking Crystal Light for so many years, authentic lemonade is a real treat. In just a few minutes I am off for a haircut at the Dillard's training salon in our neighborhood's half-empty mall. Here's to a relaxing Friday evening for everyone!

Everywhere I go aprons and so pretty. Mrs B made a joke on her blog about apron evangelism and I think I've caught the bug! ;o)

My grandma just gave me a thing of Crystal Light to try. Your apron is just beautiful.. I did post the frosting recipe with the chocolate cake one on my blog for ya.. =) We aren't big frosting eaters so I don't usually have frosting on cakes.. =) Thanks for visiting my blog. I've been reading yours and it's great!

In Christ,
Andrea

Have you tried stevia in coffee or iced tea? I'm curious what you have used the liquid stevia in and whether there was something where it just didn't "work". I bought the powdered stevia and was quite disappointed, but I have heard the liquid is better... Thanks!

Meredith - Do let us know if the liquid stevia seems to work pretty well. Trying it is on my 100 in 1001 list:)

It's hard to pass up a pretty vintage apron for 25 cents!

I am loving the liquid Sweetleaf stevia. I cannot detect an aftertaste, and it is so sweet! I have not tried to use it in baking, just cold drinks and puddings so far. I don't know that it would sub well for sugar in a baked recipe--but why bother trying to make those low carb if they are already loaded with flour to begin with? (That's a pet peeve of mine when it comes to diabetic cookbooks!)
