I rolled up my sleeves and the living room rug this morning. Whew! I think I found every marble and bit-o-plastic in the house, along with a handsome collection of dust bunnies.
What I didn't find was more than 2 cents worth of loose change. This tells me that my son's money jar experiment is a success!
After moving all the furniture, I swept and mopped. I folded the rug in fourths and vacuumed its underside as I went.
Now I will get my vintage Electrolux floor buffer ($5 at yard sale) and shine up the wood floors before putting everything back in order.
Thanks to the lovely March sunshine, it feels great to tackle some spring cleaning.

That does look funny out of context! It's the long drapery panel, temporarily knotted to keep it off the floor while I mop.
