The ants we collected from the yard, although they did not die, didn't tunnel very well in the gel. So I paid the $3 and ordered ants. They were amazing and all live for about 1 year. Note about these ant---they are harvester ants and you are warned to wear gloves when dumping them into the gel because they sting. They also move like crazy and we had a few exciting moments and some of our ants escaped and had to be squished for all the little ones protection.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-7760615927281416112007-01-16T13:20:00.000-06:002007-01-16T13:20:00.000-06:00My oldest sone (10) got the same thing for Christm...My oldest sone (10) got the same thing for Christmas from my sister...she included a check for shipping the ants...isn't there a coupon for the ants included in the box? But the ants will kill themselves and each other if they are from different colonies and so on.

We bought the ones from www.unclemilton.com ( I think that is the website) for our ant farm and they lasted for about 3-4 weeks.TheNormalMiddlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12331429075393644206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-12860540537290199042007-01-15T18:50:00.000-06:002007-01-15T18:50:00.000-06:00Pony up. If it failed again then I might consider buying some though. Happy ant hunting :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
