Dishwashers do ruin the surface, though, so handwash only.

This dish is originally designed for shrimp and shrimp cocktail sauce, so I doubt that salsa is any more acidic than that!Meredithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08455517419708043340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-84184702550226020842007-12-30T08:01:00.000-06:002007-12-30T08:01:00.000-06:00This is so true! It may not be what it was intended for, and it may not be exactly what you wanted, but if you use it!

This kind of made my laugh because we bought my Grandfather's Dinning Room wall unit from him (he had a big house). It stands in our living area room and we use it, for everything. Games, craft supplies, children's craft supplies, extra linens, filing of important papers, storage of our media devices, etc. Each of these items has a 'home' on this unit. When they don't fit, we donate to fit.

Anyways, Grandpa is not impressed. Because this is for dishes!Betty Canuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08737937884697051244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-31044676067279952482007-12-29T16:40:00.000-06:002007-12-29T16:40:00.000-06:00Beautiful and a great idea! My stainless steel Dutch oven has stains from my tomato recipes. :SRebecca Mecomberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11203011427886042637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-90896081157146874062007-12-29T14:33:00.000-06:002007-12-29T14:33:00.000-06:00Looks lovely on your table, glad you kept it.Looks lovely on your table, glad you kept it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-51213940226491042452007-12-29T10:52:00.000-06:002007-12-29T10:52:00.000-06:00I'm glad that you decided to keep the Armetale set...I'm glad that you decided to keep the Armetale set. I must say that you came upon a real find when you snagged this dish. You're getting so much use out of it at a fraction of the cost even of the sale price.

I have two old bowls with dip containers that my parents used when I was growing up -- one is wooden and the other is glass with a silver pedestal base. I've worn the wooden one out to the point that I either need to toss it or do some repair work. Of course, the glass one is more versatile, as it can be dressed up or down and it can hold dry contents, such as chips, or "damp" contents, such as shrimp on ice.Mimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13429722263321739095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-46416945722920210732007-12-28T15:33:00.000-06:002007-12-28T15:33:00.000-06:00Funny you should mention use what you have. I'm going thru my fridge and cabinets putting together meals for the next few days using the things already here.

It's amazing how creative you can get when you put everything onthe kitchen table and start matching up foods that you never though would go together!Pattie - Chicagoland, ILhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00266118934262083104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-48919404377335964342007-12-28T13:53:00.000-06:002007-12-28T13:53:00.000-06:00Wonderful idea.
