Pantry Step Stools

I seriously want your library kik-stool. I don't think I can stand to know if you got it for a dollar at a yard sale. --Deb, in the comments

This stool ranks as one of my favorite yard sale finds, ever. I painted it white as part of my pantry makeover.

  1. My mom painted hers to look like a Holstein cow.

  2. My 3yo daughter would absolutely flip if we had a library stool. Every time we go to the library, even if only for 1 minute to grab a book off the hold shelf, she runs around looking for a stool to sit on.

Library stools are so universal and classic...What a great addition to your pantry!

  3. you rock, Meredith! Aren't they the greatest invention?!

I paid full price to buy a Fire Engine RED one for my childhood best friend's wedding. We were little kid library geeks together and it was the first thing she put on her Crate and Barrel wedding registry.

  5. You always find the most amazing bargains!

Isn't paint wonderful? It really transforms anything. Just today I did a how-to on stenciling, and my project turned out even better than I thought it would.

  6. I have looked and looked for one of those stools. I have not seen one yet second hand...I am not tall. I need a step stool to put dishes up. One of those things would sure come in handy. Right now I have a small 2 step ladder that I must put up every time I need it.

Your pantry is looking really good. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Roxie

  7. I read your post earlier in the spring about the Kik Step. I found one a few weeks later at a garage sale for $3, Thanks to your post I knew I should get it.

I had not thought of painting it. Did you spray paint it?

  8. I love these stools. We had one in army housing once when I was growing up.

And thanks for the mention on your food for thought page - you're so sweet!

  9. Our 20 year old kikstep destroyed our new linoleum in the kitchen. I didn't realize it was the old stool tearing holes into it! :) ours is in the garage now.
